This is the final installment on the 4 part Fighting Against Web 2.0 With Grunge Series Great Grunge Designs. I am concluding this great series with what I would say in my opinion is Grunge at it’s best. Now what I mean by this is that these designs, use the previous grunge elements we spoke about to creating a website that is genuine and balanced. The grunge aspect isn’t to overpowering but the site fits into the “Grunge” category. They use subtle grunge elements to give them the advantage over their competitors. These sites truly honor the title of Fighting Against Web 2.0. The sites aren’t to hardcore or crazy, but they are corporate, business like sites that have just added a creative flair that in my opinion has always looked better then Web 2.0.

W3 Markup is a great web service, it allows you to design your website in Photoshop, you then send your PSD files and BAM! You got yourself a coded website.Their prices are fair and from the looks of their testimonials they seem prompt and the quality control is good. I really like their site as well, I like the paint brush rough texture in the back. The site offers a brilliant color scheme.. the colors are great.
They have some really big websites under their belt, one being Smashing Magazine’s great blog.

MarkUp4U offers a great online service for designers that don’t have time or just want to get a site built from a mock-up to a fully functional site. This is a great service for both designers and developers; let’s say you are super busy with 5 clients and you just need to get these done.. you have all of them designed and you are ready to code the sites and make them functional. Send a few of to MarkUp4U and they can take the sites and build them while you are concentrating on something you enjoy like designing. This service plays on the idea of “you aren’t good at everything so ask for help from someone that knows it better then you”.
Take a look at Velox Media site.. this is a great looking site but also has very simple functions that MarkUp4U has implemented.

They offer a great price for the quality control they send to you. This is a great service, and I highly recommend you check it out for yourselves.
This is Part 3 of the Fighting Against Web 2.0 With Grunge Series Grunge Elements. This grunge element is used in a wide variety of sites from music related to urban websites. These elements aren’t necessarily overwhelming but they add a great sense of rebellion. Adding a splatter to a corporate logo, says “yeah we are a business but we don’t care about business standards, we are the step above the rest”. So enjoy the posts, and remember that this series isn’t out to find the most hardcore grunge designs but to showcase grunge designs, elements that work good with good content, and web standards.

I am happy to announce another site sponsor Nice Icons. The site offers beautiful looking icons for a wide range of use. The site is put together very nicely, it’s clean, shows that you are on a icon based site. The icons are done with very simple, clean designs. I have always been interested in icon design, especially now with so many icon based websites popping up. I am sure we will be doing a post on Icons in the near future, and I can tell you know that, this site will make the list.

Another great thing about our new sponsor Chris has offered to send out a half price special for you the Inspiredology readers. Chris has just put out the new set called “Mercury“, you can by it via this special discounted link. So head on over to his site and check out his stuff.

Part 2 of the Fighting Against Web 2.0 With Grunge Series Drips, Splatters & Sprays.

So this is the first Best Of post for Inspiredology, when I started the blog I decided that I really didn’t want to recap the web and send out a Best Of post, but now I have changed my mind, a few reasons come into play; One being that why not offer to throw some more traffic around, I was featured on last month’s Smashing Magazine Best Of, it was truly an honor, and I seen a great amount of traffic come my way. 2. There are some websites, and features on the web that aren’t necessarily big enough for their own feature post, so this is a good way to get those small but important news, tips, posts out to the Inspiredology community. This is just another feature that will be added to the Inspiredology site, I am looking into adding a few more features that will hope to help give you more information and allow you to get some exposure to the web

More and more we see designers creating websites that are typical web 2.0 looking sites. Designers are trying to break the mold everyday, trying to start the next big trend.
Hand Drawn elements have become more popular as with the ability to offer a more creative, and unique design. I personally really like when designers use this as a theme. I have compiled a list of Hand Drawn Websites, these sites feature elements that fit the category, and some are just all based on Hand Drawn doodles, and sketches.
