Another great list! So many awesome old school posters – A Hard Day’s Night, Star Wars, Scarface, Clockwork Orange…
Love the Family Guy Blue Harvest poster, but that’s probably because I love the film!
There are always great inspiration in movie posters..:) Love Your compilation, I also understand why movie posters are so great – that’s like logotype, public face to movies
Wow! This is by far the best “Bests posters” I’ve seen in the whole web.
Thanks Chad.
this list is just a parade of your favorite films. seriously corpse bride? what the fuck man.
agreed theres a lot of unintresting movie posters in this list…like
Rambo
cloverfield
oneflew over the cuckoos nest
madlax
be kind rewind
casino royale
horton
the beatles
frost nixon
You’ve missed one of the best, was an old starwars one but all it had on it was the highlights of vaders mask so you could just make it out, but no one had see vader at the time so it was a really mysterious poster that basically popped up all round England leaving people clueless.
Great list, keep them coming!
Thanks everyone for making this post seen.. and thanks for the list.
James…. That sounds interesting.. I have never seen it before, or heard of it… If you see a copy I would love to get my hands on it.
Anon…. This is a showcase of movies I have found, not my favorite films. I am sorry you feel that way. Personally Corpse Bride is a movie I have never seen and probably will never see, but I love the style of art Tim Burton uses. It’s fantastic and unique and that’s why it deserves to be on this list.
Keep the comments coming folks
Every time I see that “Walk the Line” poster all I think about is:
No matter how much he pees, that fire ain’t going out.
Now you’re thinking that too.
good list, a lot of real nice posters! some not so much so. one thing though the poster for the shining is not actually a movie poster its for a art show at a gallery based around the theme of the shining, its nice though.
Some of these were fantastic!
Others were… eh. They weren’t anything special, really.
the shining one is from an art show not the movie.
the rest are pretty cool…
Excelente seleccion de carteles de peliculas.
Un saludo
great picks.
some obviousley better than others but that is already a matter of taste.
two other movies i can think of that really had good art were “silence of the lambs” and “Donnie Darko”
Thanks for these awesome collection of posters. I’ve got it saved for my future reference.
Cheers.
Awesome, but you forgot one…Reservoir Dogs, great, plain, but cool movie poster, also a classic movie
American Beauty.
That’s the only one in this list worth mentioning as far as poster design is concerned.
You’re averaging one good one per post which is a better rate than Hollywood churns out so I guess that’s something.
I’m being very critical but I’m sure you can do better.
Hey, you have a great blog here! I’m definitely going to bookmark you!
I have a site called nzbtube.net a nzb movie/serie site with trailers but no posters maybe in the future.
It pretty much covers all movie nzb movie stuff.
Come and check it out if you get time
I see we share a common interest! Excellent job on the website!
I’m a huge fan of The Dark Knight and whenever I see the posters it always reminds me how effective the marketing plan was. Fantastic collection – thank you for posting!
These are pretty great – and I was happy to see only maybe 2 or 3 instances of “Trajan” amongst the typefaces! lol
I really dig the russian-propaganda poster inspired ones – V for Vendetta and Powersaw to the People.
Nice collection.
yes, really this one should be bookmarked…great work friend…continue this.
Dexter is a television show.
The blade runner is a classic! .Reminds me of those heavy metal mags!
Hi great collection .. i loved watching most of these movies.. keep the good work going.

If you’re American, I’ll forgive you…
If you’re british and havn’t seen it, where then **** have you been?
That poster is so good it’s up in the Victoria and Albert Museum (Massive museum in London)…
Look it up and watch the film
Sarah
dude u did a great job picking them ….i love the old movie posters
these are great. Check out some of my new illustrations at my zazzle store here:
let me know what you think! Thanks!!!
oops.. heres the link to my illustrations. http://www.creativestink.com. enjoy.
These are fantastic examples of graphic design. I think that a lot of people take movie posters for granted and don’t exactly realize how much creative thought goes into promoting a film. From the initial design to photography and to putting together the final result, it’s still a ton of work and the artists are great for devoting their time. Thanks for posting such nice work.
I am sad to see you dont have the Breast Men poster with David Schwimmer.

What a great collection! Only thing is when i click on the images it takes me to a private page on Flickr… Whats up with that, or am i missing something?
