That’s right! We’ve joined forces with FITC [Flash In The Can] for another event. We had a blast at FITC Toronto this year, so when asked if we would help support the San Francisco event we did not hesitate! Now I could write a bunch of original content about FITC, but they’ve done an amazing job of describing the event on their site, so here it is:
What is FITC?
FITC has held over 30 events over eight years, through 10 cities and five countries, with over 14,000 attendees. From Flash to motion design, to design and creative inspiration, to other technologies such as Mobile, Flex, Air and processing, FITC events stand as unique and exciting events that educate, challenge, and inspire. We began as a Flash Festival back in 2002, and we’ve kept Flash at the core, however we have also continued to add more and more diverse presentations over the years, continuing to expand the programming of our events.

What is it like at the event?
It starts with the presentations: THREE solidly packed days of presentations, both technical and creative. Presenters from around the world have been hand-selected based on their skill and talent. You will have FOUR different tracks to choose from with over SIXTY presentations. It’s also about networking: being able to meet and talk to people who share your passion for this industry. Meet them at the presentations, in the exhibitor area, or at one of the evening events. Did we mention the parties? We don’t mean to toot our own horn, but FITC parties are legendary. Check out the FITC Toronto 2010 Highlight Video to get a taste of our events.

How about a Keyswitch Integrated Terminal Encryptor Simulation all in Flash.
The coolest thing I’ve seen done in Flash is augmented reality. I am focusing on this topic for my thesis – using simply ActionScript, I will be able to have an interactive, 3D portfolio sitting in your hands with the ability to scroll through with the swipe of a hand — all off of my business card. I am very excited to begin this project, and I look forward to becoming even more familiar with Flash!
I’ve gone to FITC a number of times, and I have to say the coolest thing I’ve seen with Flash is the work that Joshua Davis has made. Flash can be an excellent tool for making interactive art. Also, see Emily Gobeille’s work http://zanyparade.com (she is a speaker at FITC SF)—she integrates motion graphics with Flash to create this environments that users can physically interact with, and that is something ever so special.
I would love a chance to go to this. Thank you, FiTC, for supporting and inspiring the Flash community once again.
I do love a conference that comes from Canada.
FITC Toronto was one of the best conferences I have been to. I learned so much, including Megaphone, afterwhich I created a ‘Simon’ game using it. My company was in awe. Thanks FITC! I want more!
I’d love to come to FITC San Francisco!
I’m pretty far away, but the lineup is worth crossing the seas for!
I missed FITC in Toronto this year and have been looking for an excuse to get back out to the West Coast!
for flash inspiration I have always liked the Nike SB site

Having been to a couple FITC’s so far, I highly recommend this conference to anyone in the business. It isn’t just about seeing the next cool shit, it is about knowledge, relationships, communication, ideas and of course there is the cool shit.
