Wow! This giveaway sounds like a web designer’s paradise!
For the past few months the Kings Of Leon – Only By The Night seems to be the only album that gets my Photoshop inspiration going nonstop. It’s an amazing piece of music that I seem unable to get tired of (unusual for me). Use Somebody and Closer are my favorite tracks! Oh and the band just won big at the Grammys!
Thanks guys and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Happy Birthday Inspiredology! (and Happy Bday Chad!)
I like to listen to a lot of hip hop when I’m working. But I like to find rare and unique stuff, for example, last thing I listened to was a mashup of WuTang vs. The Beatles. Check it out if you haven’t already: http://www.teasearecords.net/wuvsbeatles.cfm
Great giveaway! Keep up the good work, and may you have many more birthdays!
Awesome giveaway. Music that keeps me going is the steady beat of drum and bass on DI.FM, when I’m doing some actionscript it just keeps my head in the loop. literally.
Even though I don’t consider this my favourite type of music generally, I really love listening to classical music when coding or designing.
It really soothes my mind and allows me to focus on the task at hand.
Great giveaway, I hope it goes well for you!
The main piece I like to listen to is The Alan Parson’s Project: The Definitive Collection
Sometimes when I code I like to listen to Pet Shop Boys
This is definitely a huge giveaway!
I would say most music i listen to is rock Seether/Rammstein.
Very nice birthday bash!
i would like to listen to Jason Mraz songs.. so breezing my mind
Wow, great prizes! Happy birthday, Inspiredology!
I usually find supportive but not intrusive symphonic music (Mozart or Corelli or Einaudi works best for me – my god, it rhymed!) or light instrumental jazz (Esbjörn Svensson Trio being my latest find).
Currently – O’death or Avett Brothers
Alltime – Bouncing Souls
I guess it depends on what I am working on. If I am coding and really need to a clear head I will listen to FSOL (Future Sound of London): Lifeforms or something similar. Don’t want it to be distracting.
If I am really trying to get the juices flowing i will find a drum and bass mix. Something that is little faster and has some energy.
Thanks for the opportunity.
“Secrets of Zen – Japanese Chillout Vol. 1″ – It really helps out during coding/design.
happy birthday!
i fell im at my most productive when listening to new young pony club =D
Happy birthday.
Thanks for the opportunity.
Wow, what a great giveaway! Those awesome prices would be exactly what I need to get started again with my graphic design/web design business after my maternity leave.
The music I listen to varies with my mood and what I’m designing at the moment. If I’m feeling happy and eager to get started with a fun project I listen to old favourites like The Velvet Underground, The Smiths and Pulp. And I sing loudly
If I need to concentrate more, like when I’m struggling with html, I listen to soothing French music like Camille and Axelle Red, or other nice female voices like Regina Spektor and Lykke Li.
Great giveaway, wish you all luck. Often I listening to minimal sounds from Paul Kalkbrenner or Trentemoller.
I love to listen to Flyleaf and 30 Seconds to Mars for some reason while I’m doing any type of design work.
great giveaway…thanks.
I tend to listen to more sedate music at the start of the week like Bonobo or Fever Ray, although it’s mood dependant too so ambient music goes with a calming designer frame of mind.
Friday is more an upbeat type of day with The Damned, Skids, King Blues or some Jack White project to take me into the weekend.
Biffy Clyro gets me going – i played a gig with them back when i was a rocker and since then i’ve been hooked – gets me in the mood!
Wondered if I was ever going to reach the bottom then!
I listen to Pink Floyd a lot. The Division Bell in particular awesome album, and very relaxing. Although it does result in a lot of time staring into space.
At the same time though I also listen to things like Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Paramore, and Midnight Oil (that one old band).
Mind. Most people at school think i’m weird listening to Midnight Oil and Pink Floyd. Not you average Teenage music.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
An absolutely great site!
Norah Jones – any album, it’s just nice and mellow
I’ve got to say, when getting down to work, I like to through on “Everything Counts” by Depeche Mode. Such a fitting tail of business at a tempo that is both upbeat and not too distracting. If Depeche isn’t doing it, i’d have to go with the Deja Vu album by CSNY, depending on what sort of “mental” state I’m looking for.

“Genghis Tron” is good for a kick.
What a great contest – I love to listen to many kinds of music. My all time favorite is classical choral music – but I often listen to the Italian band 883.
i Specially like Taylor Swift songs and the best one is Love Story…i also like listening to Akon and Enrique
Btw HaPpY bIrThDaY!!! To Inspiredology
Wow sounds great!
Love Brian Eno, Talk Radio, and when the mood is right a little hiphop.
I usually stream it with my xm subscription.
I like to listen to instrumental music. I like listening to soundtracks from favorite movies. I also enjoy listening to Elliot Jay Stocks, Sourhaze EP1.
Wow, this is a crazy giveaway!
My favorite music to listen to while designing is Dave Matthews – there is a great balance between low key and high energy songs from them, and none of them are obtrusive.
Perfect balance
Great contest….Jazz (bebop, the masters). Listening to Coltrane, Monk, Bird, can get in a groove and everything flows.
Two of my favorite things to listen to while designing are the album Chroma by Cartel or anything by Ratatat.
I’m an architect, and I love the sound of brushes swishling around in watercolor buckets when I work.
Happy b-day guys!! Awesome work you do, and I’m glad to follow you by RSS.
Well, I like rock (metallica, pearl jam, silver chair, staind, saliva, godsmack, disturbed, korn etc) and psy trance. Makes me focus and “turn-on” when I’m design or drawing UX interfaces.
I’d say the latest edition of A State of Trance with Armin van Buuren. It gets me in the zone..
Metallica – their agressive songs inpires me
Say Hello — Deep Dish
What a collection!
I listen to music all day, every day. Couldn’t design without it. Currently Radical Face and Beach House are on high rotation.
Nice giveaway and happy birthday !!
I love any kind of music, but I listen to most to any album of Slipknot. I also love the cd of scars on broadway, a member of the band System of a down.
I always listen to Bon Jovi. I’m addicted to them
For working late I love listening to The XX. If it’s time to be in a highly creative mood it’s M. Ward or, especially if one needs colourful graphics, Gorillaz.
I love listening Theory of a Deadman while I painting or code, specially the first and last albums
I like several different types of music everything from Etta James, The Eagles, Stones, anything Country. It really depends on how I feel that day.
Minus the Bear radio station on Pandora.
Happy Birthday!
I really like NewsBoys, Paralamas do Sucesso (brazilian band) and Ofinica G3 (another brazilian band).
Right now I’m hooked on the totally tacky Glee soundtrack. I’m a huge fan of musicals anyways, and the combination of musical and high school satire really appeals to me.
I like listening to instrumental music while working, especially Jesse Cook. I find that lyrics can sometimes be distracting (when you’re working). Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!
As for what music I listen to it really depends on the mood of the project. If I’m working on print material for a local MMA organization it will be a more aggro style of music such as Animals as Leaders or Ensiferum. If’ I’m working on an identity for a hair salon ( which is currently what I’m doing) it will be more relaxed such as Sondre Lerche and the Faces Down Quartet or Aesop Rock.
When I’m designing, I like to listen to the radio. The reason? Because I can change the station to any genre I want depending on the mood I’m in. Generally I switch between today’s hits and country.
Air’s latest album love 2 is awesome for background music
Huey Lewis and the News – Greatest Hits! Its put me in the mood. The 80s will last forever! Thank you! This website keeps delivering guilty pleasure ideas and grapgic fantasies to me!
Hey, happy 2nd birthday…. hope the site keeps getting even bigge and better!!!
While working I like to tune into 100hitz.com and listen to the ‘hot hits’ channel…. I like a bit of variety in my music throughout the day and this channel pumps out the best and latest music!
By the way….what an absolutely increadible prize…im just about the step into the world of freelancing fulltime and this would be an absolute dream come true to win
Keep up the excellent work!!!
sheena
Happy Birthday Inspiredology!!!
My favorite music band is: The BIlz and Kashif
My favorite music to listen to while working recently has been Josh Groban. I wish I could find more Italian Opera to work to.
I love to listen to classic rock it always keeps me going.
Woww .. Never seen anything huge as this ..
.. Okk .. i like to hear rap when i m coding .. you may find it a bit different .. but thats how i like it .. Jay Z, Eminem, 50cent .. all the big ones
..
Guess i will win something usefull ..
Happy Birthday Inspiredology! We share the same birthday!
I love soundtracks from Studio Ghibli movies for my illustrating / drawing hours. The music just takes me into another world and keeps the work flowing.
Happy birthday i listen to colbiecaillat when I work.
Awesome giveaway! I’ll listen to anything, but when I’m particularly inspired, I like to listen to Apocalyptica. It’s awesome without me wanting to sing along to it!
recently I have been listening a lot to Gil Scott-Heron’s new album I’m New Here. I do listen to all sorts of music as well, usually my mood will determine what’s on the playlist.
I would say that mostly Hip-Hop, Dub, Jazz tends to be the common theme, and Drum&Bass after 3 am when I’m about to pass out
Aus Hip Hop. That’s it, that’s all there is to it.
Its that beat that gets me fired up, those lyrics that get my mind racing, and then that computer the music is blaring from that lets me start working on an amazing piece of art.
Horrorshow, The Herd, Drapht, Urthboy,
I urge anyone out there to give them a look up.
oh, and have a good one.
Music of Guns N’ Roses is specially inspiration for me. Exactly November Rain and solo Slash riff’s
Happy 2nd birthday!
Music is the best inspiration for an artist… the Beatles music is a free entrance ticket for the creativity world… a world strawberry fields covered.
happy birthday
Roberto
Ambient and Jazz
that’s my secret…
pretty much anything that fall in the “good music” category of the time (subject to change)…
But if i had to choose, the Album “Otras Canciones” by A77aque keeps on inspiring me.
It all depends on what I am working on. If it’s something like logos I tend to listen to something like John Mayer. If I am doing posters and stuff I tend to go towards something like Fall Out Boy. Shirt graphics would probably be Underoath. So basically any music will do just try to match some music to the project!
Happy Birthday!
When I’m designing or developing, I like something easy that can make me relax and focus on the task at hand. Something like Pete Yorn, Ari Hest, Ray LaMontagne, etc…
King Michael’s You Are Not Alone!
Congratulations!
My favorite album to listen while working is Across The Universe soundtrack.
I listen to either traditional/New Orleans jazz or something like luxuriamusic.com.
Congrats on the birthday!
great site! i listen to boston, humble pie, prism & wishbone ash. fantastic giveaway. thanks.
I’ve been listening a lot to PNAU lately, especially their self titled album.
If it is quiet around the office I like to listen to 30 Seconds to Mars If it is noisy I like to listen so Bethel Live
The music I listen depends on my mood, however I have mainly two choices: Bon Jovi, my favourite band, most of time, and Giovanni Allevi when I am a little bit stressed and I need more concentration.
Cheers!
Michela
p.s. I’ve retweeted the news of this giveaway (my twitter account is @graphdesign)
The two songs I most often listen to while working on projects are “Boom Boom Pow” by the Black Eyed Peas and “Feel It” by DJ Tiesto, Three 6 Mafia and Sean Kingston. Love the beats!

that’s easy… i ♥ listening to lady gaga if i feel up to it… but i mostly listen to james blunt and jason mraz.
i’m crossing my fingers!
Asobi Seksu, namely their Citrus album. Shoegaze!!!
It depends on my mood, but lately I have been listening to the score of 500 days of Summer.
I’m often listening to a dutch group called “Jurk!” and for the relaxing moments i use ‘Enya’.
Congrats!
Massive Attack!
Muse – Time is Running Out
Happy Birthday!!!!!!
I listen to House Music…usually a set recorded live from a DJ. One track about 70-80 minutes long. Without being able to forward to the next track allows me to continue working without any interruptions.
Wow that’s unique giveaway!
My favorite music is
Linkin Park- New Divide (Transformers 2)
I just get inspired, don’t know how but it really motivates me.
$4800 in giveaway?!! Woooow!
Moby brings more inspiration to my work. Especially album “18″.
Hello and Happy Birthday!
I usually listen to chillout music or some good old 70′s 80′s music
Good luck everyone!
When we design, we really like heard all kind of music: jazz, rock, stoner rock, Latin-jazz, etc. But I think that, that kind of music is better to be listened being quiet on our room. Trying to be inspired for all those sounds and use that creativity on our design jobs.
But when I am designing I can’t put all my attention on that music. Seems that I need a slow-tempo music but with the enough rhythm to be concentrated and lively at the same time. The better music to me (and maybe is a more easily music to heard) is the Lounge music which contain different sound from all around the world (bossa nova, mambo, house, smoth jazz, etc). I can recommend the Lounge specials collections from Ministry Of Sound called La Nuit (Vol 1, 2, 3…). There are a lot of really good compilations, and internet radios, of this relaxing and cool music.
I hear also R&B and Hip Hop compilations (originals and remixes): the same formula; easy to hear and easy to be concentrated while I’m working on my design projects.
Just tune your favorite Lounge, R&B, House radio station on the internet and enjoy working. And another music (the more complex one) just leave for our spare time to really enjoy it and get the inspiration for our works.
Good luck all.
I love listening to the soundtrack of “I’m Not There” the bio flick of Bob Dylan- pretty much it’s a whole bunch of contemporary covers of Bob Dylan tracks from Cat Power, Eddie Vedder, Sonic Youth, etc.
Blues.
Happy Birthday!
I listen Metalcore music like August Burns Red – Darkest Hour – As I Lay Dying.
Yeeeeeeah
Boney James or David Darling
I really like to listen to piano driven, jazzy women singers when i work. lots of regina spektor, fiest, and a fine frenzy
i listen to my pandora station (rock, metal, alternative rock) or various design podscasts (InDesign Secrets podcats right now)
State of Trance with Armin Van Buuren. I love trance music, it gets things done.

See you guys.
Happy Birthday Inspiredology!
Wow! Pixmac Credits:-)
My favorite album: Tupac – All Eyes One Me. I love hip hop. Full album, only hits. One way for best works.
I listen mostly to anything classical, it gets me really “chillaxed” and “in the zone”
As you can tell from my poor attempt at comedy, I currently have no music on! lol
I enjoy listening to Anberlin especially the Lost Songs album.
Avoid RAPIDXHTML. THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD. AVOID IT ! . THEY WON”T MAKE ANYTHING FOR YOU. They will charge your credit card and then disappear.
This is really an awesome giveaway. The gifts offered are really good for the designers as well as the web designers.
A little off topic perhaps, but a plea for people to think about the ethics of buying wetsuits. Do try and consider, for example, the materials your product is made from, the conditions of the factories where they’re made and the ethics of retailers. And try to recycle rather than discarding. Thanks!!!!
I’ve been wanting to try out uprinting’s services, the last time I ordered cards I used vistaprint and the cards were cut incorrectly!!!!!!
