27 Automotive Websites
Inspired in (Web Design) by Chad on May 12, 2009
The automotive industry is gloomy – we all know it. I am always inspired by the big corporate ad campaigns that they roll out every quarter. Automotive companies spend a lot of time and money on their brand, – some lack the “pizzaz” that others have – but do you blame the brand or the product in a situation like that. Either way I took a look at some of the more popular automotive companies. These screenshots represent the corporate site, not any individual model page. This is a look at the company and it’s entire fleet of vehicles. I think it would be a great idea to dive into some of the model pages and how the companies promote an individual car. Till then enjoy 27 car companies on the web.

A good collection here…if I’m honest I’m not really drawn to many of these sites from a design point of view as they’re not all really that different from each other. Dark, sharp contrasts seem to be the way to advertise cars and everyone seems to be doing it! I’d be interested in seeing the analysis of the model pages as you’ve said.
Good desings all of them are excellent
Automotive companies always seem to stay on top of new designs and trends. I guess they kind of have to, but they always have great websites and more and more modern car designs. I guess we can see that they put a lot of money into their marketing team.
I love cars so I enjoy all the great photography on these sites.
Although all these sites are great looking, I’m still waiting to see what these auto companies will do next as the flash, 360 interior pan and such has been done for the past 6+ years.
Some do great creative work in terms of flash video/interactive media to teach about the cars but this is usually on a separate site and not incorporated into the main. Makes you wonder if the automotive industry has reached it’s peak in site design to now only include the normal galleries, pick your color, some video walkaround and build your own vehicle.

I loved all the cars and their mechanisms seem out of the world! But honestly, how many people can actually afford these kind of cars especially at such a bad time?

You don’t blame neither the car or the product…you blame the CLIENT, for being afraid of breaking out of the box when it comes to retail sales.
Have U ever heard of Proton Car or Lotus car???

These all look very close to the same. They are very nice, but you can see the resemblance a bit too well.
Here is the Hyundai Genesis and careers sites to add to the car site collection. They are both nice but their main site is boring.
