A couple of months ago we posted “25 Flourish Designs” and people spoke up about their appreciation and respect for this classic design element. This post again highlights some excellent usage of “the flourish” in today’s online world.
I think that George from Stone Laboratory said it best in the comment he left on the first Flourish post : “Flourish “organic” designs are… organic, living, and so long live flourishes!!”

Nice collection but I am not a fan of this style. It is inspiring but I prefer cleaner sites.

While flourishes definitely have design merit, I feel they’re vastly overused to convey that a business is “hip” or “youthful”. Sometimes it looks as though they’re just being used as a quick-fix to bolster an average piece.
Overall I think these work fairly well, however, especially for L’Effet and Lorelei web design.
