Websites with bright colors usually don’t bother me as much as they seem to bother most other people. I sometimes want to try bright colors on my site but I usually defer to public opinion and keep it subdued. Of course there’s bright and then there’s BRIGHT. Sites with bright yellow or lime green backgrounds are very hard on the eyes. I don’t like most dark background sites. Red text on black is the absolute worst. I’ve seen a lot of other color combinations that are difficult to read. Light grey text on white is very popular these days and I have some trouble with that. This site for example – it isn’t as bad as some but I would still prefer a shade or two darker.
